
Asil Moussa is a writer, actor, and filmmaker. Her work centres girlhood and womanhood, focusing on intimate character dynamics informed by her Egyptian-Canadian lens.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature, Creative Writing, and Digital Journalism from UWindsor, along with a Certificate in Film Studies from TMU. Her screen credits include projects streaming on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and CBC Gem.
Her short film, THE CARD, was a semi-finalist on CBC’s Short Film Face Off. The feature script she co-wrote, LOST IN THE PINES, was selected for The Black List’s Muslim List. She also wrote on the animated feature film, TIME HOPPERS, released theatrically.
Asil is currently in post-production on her short film RANA & DINA, supported by the Canada Council for the Arts and the National Film Board of Canada.
